Bayville Cemetery Improvement Association Rules and Regulations

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1.     All lots shall not be used for any purpose other than as a place of burial for the deceased. Proprietors shall not allow internments to be made in their lots for a remuneration No transfer shall take place of said lot without the consent in writing by the association. No disinterment shall be allowed without permission being obtained by the Association.

2.     The proprietor of each lot shall not erect any fencing or aboveground obstructions that interfere with the mowing process, except corner stones.

3.      The Bayville Cemetery requires a burial vault for all internments.

4.     The Proprietor of each lot shall have the right to erect any proper stones, monuments and structures thereon. Although above ground vaults are not prohibited, the cemetery association retains the right to approve or disapprove each vault on an individual basis.

5.      The Bayville Cemetery requires that all monuments have a foundation installed. All monument foundations will be installed only by the B.C.A. at the cost of $1.00 per square inch.

6.     The proprietor of each lot shall have the right to cultivate trees, shrubs and plants in their plot.  If any trees or shrubs, situated in any lot, shall by means of their roots, branches or unsightly appearance become detrimental to the cemetery, the association reserves the right to remove said growth. The cemetery reserves the right to trim shrubs and trees for the benefit of all. Planting within each plot should be cared for by plot owner. The caretaker of the cemetery does not weed the plantings within a plot. The practice of placing decorative stone within said plot is not allowed. The cemetery reserves the right to remove decorative stones that have become unsightly. The use of weed killer is not allowed. The Cemetery will plant grass seed after each burial at an appropriate time.

7.     If any monument, effigy, enclosure or inscription be placed upon any lot, be determined to be offensive, improper or injurious to the appearance of the surrounding lots or grounds, the director shall have the right and it shall be his / her duty to enter the said lot and remove the said offensive or improper object or objects.

8.     The proprietor of any lot has the right to adorn their lot with holiday décor. The Cemetery removes Christmas decorations between the Christmas holiday and Easter. The Easter Decorations between the Easter holidays and Memorial Day. Flags are placed on veteran’s stones prior to Memorial Day. Proprietors of lots should maintain all other decorations. The Cemetery association reserves the right to remove any decorations that are deemed unsightly, including silk and plastic flowers that have seen better days as well as small collectibles which deter our ability to maintain the Cemetery.

9.      Upon purchasing a burial plot, the Cemetery Association will provide the owner with a legal Deed. The aforementioned deed will be required as proof of ownership prior to any internment in said plot.

10.  There will be no business conducted in the cemetery without contacting the president and or secretary prior to the occurrence.
